Athena Balance 940 ml – a pH-adjusting liquid that promotes nutrient absorption and improves water structure without clogging irrigation pipes. This simple potassium silicate formula is specially concentrated to buffer irrigation water and stabilize the ideal pH. Silicon also benefits plant growth, stem structure, stress reduction, water utilization (osmoregulation), and nutrient utilization. Commercial growers achieve better results, especially with reverse osmosis (RO) water, when they first buffer it with Athena Balance. Pure RO water has an unstable chemical structure that can retain other nutrients when added without a buffer. Athena Balance adds just enough to the water to create a more uniform fertilizer solution and reduce the need for pH adjustments. How does Athena Balance work? For best results with most nutrient ranges, we always recommend using reverse osmosis (RO) water. RO water has a zero EC because it has been stripped of all impurities and other unnecessary elements found in tap water. This means that nutrients can be utilized at full strength, ensuring your plants receive more of what they need. However, pure RO water has an unstable chemical structure, which can cause problems with both pH levels and nutrient lockout. Most growers choose to add a little tap water to their mix to combat this, which then adds these unwanted contaminants back into the mix. Adjusting the pH of the solution with Athena Balance Balance adds just enough to the water to create the necessary buffer and a uniform nutrient solution, while also reducing the pH requirement after the mix is made. Another benefit of adding potassium silicate to the solution is that it actually helps plants. Silicon significantly increases the thickness and strength of plant cell walls. This helps improve things like stem thickness, greater stress reduction, and greater resistance to disease and environmental factors. How should I use and dose Athena Balance? Athena recommends using Balance throughout the entire cycle, and it's especially important when using RO water. It should be added until the desired pH level is reached in the nutrient solution.
