The AQUAbox Spyder offers a revolutionary self-watering solution for home-growing enthusiasts. No drip lines, pumps, or timers are required. Simply connect to an existing water reservoir to automatically water an area of 1.2 m²/m. Placed directly in the ground, the AQUAbox Spyder is ideal for watering conventional beds or the increasingly popular raised beds. A series of capillary wicks radiate from the AQUAbox Spyder, distributing water underground for areas up to 1.2 m²/m. The AQUAbox Spyder draws water (from the water reservoir) according to plant requirements, ensuring fantastically efficient water use. Plant roots instinctively gravitate towards the water source, attaching to the capillary wicks below ground level. The capillary wicks should be replaced every growing season. Extension kits (AQUAbox Spyder Extension Link) are available, allowing multiple units to be connected to a single water butt. The kit includes 2 metres of 9mm pipe and a reducer with built-in filter, allowing simple connection to a water butt using a length of standard garden hose (not included). A spirit level in the AQUAbox Spyder lid ensures the AQUAbox is level once in the ground.
