Canna CalMag Agent Fertilizer - Prevents Calcium and Magnesium Deficiencies. If you live in a soft water area, you should use Canna's newly released CalMag Agent. Developed by popular demand, CalMag Agent helps soften soft water by adding additional levels of calcium and magnesium to the nutrient solution. Generally, soft water has an EC reading of around 0.2; the optimal level for strong and healthy plant growth is between 0.4 and 0.7. Using Canna CalMag Agent not only adds much-needed calcium and magnesium but also raises the EC to the required level. By using Canna CalMag Agent, as the EC increases, nutrient absorption by plants improves and deficiencies are reduced, resulting in stronger and healthier plants with increased fruit and flower production. Canna CalMag Agent can also be used in hard water areas with an EC reading greater than 0.8, but Canna advises using a reverse osmosis (RO) filter to initially reduce the EC, then adding CalMag Agent until the EC reaches the required 0.4 - 0.7.
