Milwaukee's Waterproof pH Meter with Replaceable Electrode and Manual Calibration. Model: PH-51. Made in Europe. The Milwaukee pH51 is a pocket-sized pH meter. This waterproof, affordable pH tester features a waterproof housing and dual-connector, replaceable electrodes, making it suitable for heavy-duty applications such as wastewater treatment and agriculture. The modular design allows for easy electrode and battery replacement. Manual calibration extends battery life to 1500 hours. The pH level in a plant's nutrient solution is an important factor in plant absorption. Proper pH can maximize nutrient uptake. pH- (which lowers pH) or pH+ (which increases pH) can be used to regulate the pH level in the nutrient solution. However, combining both is not recommended. If the pH level drops too much, pH+ should not be increased; it is better to prepare the nutrient solution from scratch. Milwaukee meters are durable, fast, and reliable. Additionally, they are very easy to use. Technical data: pH measurement range: 0.0 to 14.0 pH measurement accuracy at 25°C: ±0.1 pH calibration: manual 2-point pH electrode: MA73600 (replaceable) operating temperature: 0-50°C power supply: 3x 1.5V batteries (included) waterproof calibration pouches included (4.0 and 7.0) weight: 186g Instructions for use First use: Remove the protective cap and immerse the pH51 in MA9015 storage solution for 2 hours to activate the electrode. Calibration: Unscrew the battery compartment cover and perform a two-step calibration according to the instructions below. Acid calibration (below pH 7): Immerse the electrode in pH 7.01 buffer solution (M10007). Wait for the reading to stabilize and use a small screwdriver to adjust the "7" calibration trimmer on the display until it shows "7.0." Rinse the electrode with water and immerse it in pH 4.01 buffer solution (M10004). Wait for the reading to stabilize and use a small screwdriver to adjust the "4" calibration trimmer on the display until it shows "4.0." Alkaline calibration (above pH 7): Immerse the electrode in pH 7.01 buffer solution (M10007). Wait for the reading to stabilize and use a small screwdriver to adjust the "7" calibration trimmer on the display until it shows "7.0." Rinse the electrode with water. End of calibration. Operation: Remove the protective cap. Turn on the pH51 by pressing the ON button. Immerse the electrode in the solution to be tested. Stir gently and wait for the reading to stabilize. Rinse the electrode with water after use to minimize contamination. Store the electrode with a few drops of storage solution (MA9015) or pH 7 (M10007) in the protective cap. Always replace the protective cap after use. Do not use distilled or deionized water for storage. Electrode Replacement: Remove the protective cap. Unscrew the plastic ring on top of the electrode. Remove the MA73600 electrode and replace it with a new one (aligning the colored pin with the LCD side). Make sure the seals are in place before screwing the ring back on. Battery Replacement: Unscrew the battery compartment cover and replace all three 1.5V batteries, observing the polarity. Make sure the seal is in place before screwing the cover back on. NOTE! To maintain the electrode warranty, do not allow it to dry out and must always be stored in KCL electrode storage fluid (e.g., Growth Technology KCL).
