Opis produktu

NFT is an acronym for Nutrient Film Technique, which translates into Polish as Thin-Layer Flow Cultures (CKP). The essence of their operation is captured in the name of this system. It is an active hydroponic system, very often used in commercial cultivation of various plants. Plants grow in trays into which a nutrient solution is pumped, creating a thin film layer at the bottom containing all the necessary nutrients. Over time, the expanding plant roots form a compact root mat, similar to a thick carpet. The plants' constant access to nutrients and life-giving oxygen in this system causes plants to grow faster and produce larger yields. That's why you'll find them in so many commercial greenhouses. When it comes to hydroponic systems based on NFT technology, one product stands out – the NFT Gro-Tank. The NFT Gro-Tank is the first hydroponic system adapted to the needs of home growers. It was invented in the UK in the 1970s and has never disappointed a gardener in over thirty years. It has a maximum height of 30 cm, so your plants will have plenty of room to grow up to the lamp line. It comes with a leak-proof reservoir, making it ideal for attics, bedrooms, and rented apartments where water dripping down the walls is not something you want to see. When should you transplant your plants into an NFT Gro-Tank system? The most important thing is a well-developed root system. If you're growing in rockwool cubes, remove the plastic sleeve and wait until healthy, white roots emerge from all sides of the cube. If you're starting with soil or coco coir, remove the pots and check the root system of your seedlings. How should you arrange your plants in the trays? NFT Gro-Tank systems allow for flexible arrangement of plants in the trays. They work very well with the Sea of Green technique – many small plants and a very short growing season. They can also be used to grow gigantic plants. It all depends on your preferences, growing technique, and the variety you plan to grow. What EC values should you calibrate your nutrient solution to? The NFT technique lacks a buffer between the nutrient solution and the plants' root systems, so it requires slightly lower fertilizer doses than other hydroponic techniques. Start with half the manufacturer's recommended dose and gradually increase to the full dose throughout the entire cycle. How high of a fertilizer concentration should you use in the reservoir? Plants growing indoors under grow lights will always absorb more water than minerals from the nutrient solution, causing the EC level to gradually rise. Buy a good EC meter and monitor the situation constantly. How often should you completely change the nutrient solution in the reservoir? We suggest replacing the entire nutrient solution every two weeks. This will ensure optimal growth conditions for the plants. Should the plants be tied up? Yes. In NFT systems, larger plants require tying up, especially high-yielding varieties towards the end of the growing cycle. Why is NFT better than growing in pots? Faster growth and greater efficiency – expect the possibility of tripling the efficiency compared to growing in soil mixtures. Ease of use – in this type of systems there are no complicated fertilization tables and the possibility of mistakes. Faster harvest – means more cultivation cycles per year. Watering efficiency – it is many times higher than in other active systems. You cannot dry out or overwater the plants – the bushes will take up exactly the amount of water they need at a given moment. Neatness and no waste – in this type of cultivation there is no problem with bags of earth and dirt lying around everywhere. No pests living in the soil – if there is no soil, their existence loses its raison d'être.
