Tropf-Blumat Drip Head with 3mm Tubing Tropf-Blumat Drip Head with Moisture Sensor. The ceramic Tropf-Blumat drip head with moisture sensor is the core component of the Blumat automatic irrigation system. It functions as both a moisture sensor and a water distributor. It consists of a clay cone, a control head with a membrane, and a valve. It is equipped with a T-connector (8-3-8mm) and a 20 cm long silicone tube with a diameter of 3 mm. The Tropf-Blumat drip head monitors the soil moisture level at the point of installation (near the plant's roots) and reacts immediately by delivering the correct amount of water if the soil around the roots becomes too dry. A single drip head irrigates and monitors soil with a diameter of 20-25 cm. It operates based on the principle of osmosis. It is connected to a water source, which can be a gravity tank or a tap, using an 8 mm water supply hose. Connection to a tap via a water pressure reducer. The following components are necessary for connection to a water source, unless the dripper is purchased as an extension of one of the pre-made kits, which already include the following: An 8mm black or white water supply hose, sold by the meter or in rolls (the product can be found in the HOSES section), which is needed to connect the dripper to the water source. If the installation will be against a white wall and we don't want it to be visible, we recommend a white hose; a gravity tank connector (product in the accessories section), allows the connection of an 8mm tube to the tank; a terminal connector, for closing the 8mm water supply tube; a pressure reducer (the product can be found in the OTHER ACCESSORIES section), which is needed if the system is to be connected to a tap.
