Westland Orchid Potting Mix 8L – Ready-made potting mix for healthy orchid growth and flowering. Orchids are beautiful plants with unique blooms, making them a popular choice. Westland ready-made potting mix for orchids is a specially prepared blend of pine bark and SERAMIS granules. The mix has a loose and porous structure. It allows for free airflow and optimal moisture retention, which promotes healthy root development and abundant flowering. HOW DOES SERAMIS WORK? Seramis is a highly porous, burnt natural clay granule. When watered, the granules absorb water and nutrients. They release water when the potting mix begins to dry, creating an ideal environment for root development. PLANTING AND TRANSPANTING: Prepare a pot with sufficient root space. Fill one-third of the pot with orchid potting mix. Place the plant in the pot and carefully spread the roots. Gently hold the orchid by the stem and fill the space around the roots with new potting mix. Tap the pot from the bottom to compact the potting mix—do not tamp the potting mix from the top. Orchids may require support in the pot, such as a stick or wire. Repot after flowering or when new growth and roots appear. Remove old and dead roots, but leave the potting mix attached to healthy, fleshy, white roots. Don't worry if a few roots protrude beyond the pot. Repot the plant only when new root growth is limited. WATERING: Orchid roots will quickly rot in excessively humid conditions. Therefore, water sparingly, ideally once a week. Orchids prefer high humidity. Spraying orchids once or twice a week on exposed roots and leaves will help recreate the plant's natural habitat. FERTILIZATION: During the growing and flowering periods, feed the plants with Westland specialized orchid fertilizer, preferably diluted in rainwater. During the active growing season (spring/summer), feed the plants every other watering, and every fourth in winter. Directions for use: USEFUL TIPS: Orchids need bright, filtered light, so it's best to avoid placing them in direct sunlight. Different species require different temperatures, so choose the appropriate room in the house depending on the type of orchid you're growing. Most orchids require a dormant period in winter, during which watering and feeding should be reduced. STORAGE AND PRECAUTIONS: Store in a dry, frost-free place, away from herbicides and other garden chemicals. Tightly close the container after partial use. Use in well-ventilated areas; avoid inhaling dust. Wear protective gloves when gardening. Wash your hands after finishing work.
